Fed-up with the way major league baseball is trashing the classic ballparks
(only Fenway and Wrigley remain) and then blackmailing cities for "retro"
parks that cater to the wealthy at our expense? Tired of $10 million-a-year
athletes who claim they would play for nothing, yet live in gated enclaves
far from the communities who pay their salaries? Want to see fans actually
have a voice about issues like spiraling costs, artificial turf, continuous
expansion, the designated hitter, and media ownership of teams? Join the
We're FAIRball (Baseball Fans of America in Revolt), the new fan organization that will hopefully fix baseball before the owners manage to destroy it.
(Okay, we're just some guys in Minnesota who think we know more about baseball than the clowns running the game.)
How will we do it?
By publicizing what's dreadfully wrong with the game, and then offering some solutions. By recruiting as many baseball fans into our organization as possible, and regularly making our opinions known. Mostly by acting as a clearinghouse for good ideas and suggestions that will attempt to educate the baseball establishment about what needs to be done to keep baseball a national treasure.
That's why we've created FanSpeak, a forum to share your ideas, your frustrations, your beefs with baseball. In other words, it's a place to vent.
So tell us what you think.
