About the Author:
Tom Stanton has been a journalist for two decadesand a baseball fan for three. A founder of The Voice Newspapers in suburban Detroit, he has won state and national press awards, including a prestigious Michigan Journalism Fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Stanton has also served several years as a professor at the University of Detroit Mercy, and earned degrees from Michigan State University and Oakland University. He belongs to the Society for American Baseball Research, Friends of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, and the Mayo Smith Society. He lives in New Baltimore, Michigan, with his wife, Beth, and their three sons.
